On behalf of Earth Day Indiana, celebrated Indiana based folk/Americana artist Jason Wilber will be headlining a fundraiser concert in support of this essential environmental non-profit organization. For over 25 years, Wilber has honed his craft by entertaining audiences with his unique wit and introspective lyrics, along with his spectacular guitar playing. In fact, his guitar playing earned him a job as lead guitarist and musical director for legendary folk artist John Prine!
Â
Wilber’s solo shows are an intimate affair, where you can hear a pin drop, or the audience bursting with laughter. His most recent album, Time Traveler, clearly illustrates how his songwriting has reached the level of the masters. With Prine, Wilber has graced many of the great stages and television shows, and has accompanied Prine on recordings with Emmylou Harris, Allison Krauss, Lucinda Williams, and Amanda Shires, to name a few.Â
Opening the show is Meghan Cristeen Martin, another homegrown native, who has made a name for herself over the last couple of years. Crossing the line between folk and country, her soulful vocals are both attractive and raw.
Â
The April 22nd fundraiser shares the same date as the officially recognized Earth Day. However, Earth Day Indiana will hold their 33rd annual festival on June 3, 2023, in historic Garfield Park, Indianapolis. Please help support Earth Day Indiana, who in turn supports environmental awareness and activism in central Indiana!
