More About the Book:
Jenny Bienemann's images and poetry in Haiku Milieu Volume 2 were inspired by the lovely, ordinary pleasures of daily life. Organized into chapters of romance, reverie, regret, remember, and reality, Haiku Milieu delivers the simultaneously familiar and new experience of seeing the world through the eyes of the soul, and finding beauty everywhere.
Jenny (McCarthy) Bienemann is an award-winning poet, singer, songwriter, and visual artist with a mission to find the extraordinary in the everyday.
With three critically acclaimed studio albums and two live albums, her music has underscored TV, film, and theatre projects. She's offered classes at The Old Town School of Folk Music, Lamb's Retreat for Songwriters, and The Acorn Theatre. As a way to keep her creative juices flowing, she began a daily practice of taking photos and writing haiku, and what started as a lark quickly evolved into a movement of creativity and community. Today, there are three HaikuMilieu books, audiobooks, workshops, meditations, and more than 200 new songs inspired by Haiku Milieu, written by independent artists from across the United States. Her work has earned features in the Chicago Tribune Arts Section, on WGN Radio 720 in Chicago, and more.
Jenny grew up in Naperville, attending Highlands Elementary School, Washington Jr. High, and Naperville Central. Her mother still lives in Naperville's East Highlands, where she grew up. Anderson's Bookshop is one of the happiest places on earth for her.
