In videos that have captured the hearts of millions online, Old Time Hawkey, aka Fritz and his dogs Donnybrook and Kris Draper, is always there to offer a hot apple cider or an ice cream sundae on a tough day. The sound of Fritz's soothing voice telling a story, sharing a recipe, or playing a retro video game helps many of his fans relax and unwind at the end of the day.
Everyone has a "cedar swamp" - something nostalgic that sparks feelings often associated with simpler, stress-free times. It could be a childhood home, an old journal, or something as simple as a scent or an old song. Old Time Hawkey's Recipes from the Cedar Swamp brings you on an adventure through Fritz's personal cedar swamp-with over 100 simple and cozy recipes inspired by three generations of campfires, deer camps, and family gatherings spent in Northern Michigan.
Fritz's first cookbook is divided into three categories: indoor, campfire, and companions, so you'll find a recipe perfect for any occasion whether you're hosting friends for a special gathering or about to depart on a summer camping trip with only a cast-iron skillet and tinfoil.

About the Author:
Old Time Hawkey, comprised of Fritz and his two dogs, Donnybrook and Kris Draper, have gained a massive following online through their unique approach to...well, everything. Their videos have connected with millions, as they combine many of Fritz’s passions: outdoorsmanship, cooking, old-school movies, sweet dog antics, retro video games, and the Detroit Red Wings. Fritz uses classic ingredients and rustic techniques to produce signature takes on beloved dishes (usually accompanied by a can of cold pop and a rousing game of Super Mario Land). Fritz, Donnybrook, and Kris Draper currently reside in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where all three strive to remain—as always—good boys. |
