3rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Day Unity Brunch Fundraiser

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Alliance for Civic Engagement (ACE) will host its 3rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Unity Brunch, commemorating what would have been Dr. King’s 97th birthday. 

The Dr. MLK Day Unity Brunch will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Abbington Banquets, located at 3S002 Route 53, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. This in-person event offers a meaningful opportunity for the community to come together and honor the enduring values of equality, justice, and peace championed by Dr. King. The program will feature inspiring remarks, dynamic performances, award presentations, recognition of community leaders, premier networking opportunities, and a delicious brunch. 

This year’s distinguished participants include: 

• Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett – Keynote Speaker 

• Robin Robinson, former longtime FOX 32 Chicago News Anchor – Co-Emcee 

• Atiba Buchanan, WVON Chicago Radio Host – Co-Emcee 

• A special performance by the acclaimed dance company Praize Productions, with additional performers to be announced 

ACE will also host an After Brunch Social later that evening on April 18, from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., at Tailgaters Sports Bar & Grill, 431 W. Boughton Rd., Bolingbrook, IL. This official after-party invites guests to mix, mingle, and celebrate with top-tier live performances, DJs creating an unforgettable vibe, complimentary appetizers, a cash bar, and exceptional networking opportunities. 

Proceeds from the MLK Day Unity Brunch and After Brunch Social support ACE’s mission, including the awarding of student scholarships and advancing community engagement through public forums, strategic planning, voter registration initiatives, and educational programming.
