The Students in AP Chemistry at St. Louis University High had chosen as their year-long project a study on screen addiction.  This analysis included group presentations on the physiology of addiction and the dopamine response, tech applications designed for addiction, policy, and analysis of school data from a student self-report survey given by our Instructional Counsel.  This class of students teamed up with instructors and administrators from Math, Library Science, Student Counseling, Theology, and Student Life for this study that took them through the fall semester.  As a capstone to this incredibly important topic, the class is sponsoring two viewings of the follow-up to critically acclaimed documentary Screenagers, Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER: one for students during the late start on March 4th (optional) and one open viewing for members of the community on March 5th at 6:00pm in the Si Commons. We hope you can join us for this watch-event and come away with ideas and renewed understanding when it comes to the use of screens and to physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
