NIAM presents Sunday Arts @ NIAM series
The National Indo-American Museum (NIAM), which builds bridges across generations and connects cultures through the diverse colorful stories of Indian Americans, is continuing the monthly cultural arts series with Tabla player Krissy Bergmark and Bharatnatyam dancer Shreya Magesh. Enjoy this unique fusion of two classical arts with us on Sunday, 25th September from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Bio:
Krissy Bergmark is a tabla player, multi-instrumentalist,
and composer. Bergmark centers her work on bringing tabla to new artistic
spaces through composition and performance, with a grounded understanding of
the traditions of the instrument. She has received grants through the cedar
Commissions, the Jerome Foundation, the metropolitan Regional Arts Council,
andtheMinnesota State Arts Board. She composes and performs as a solo artist,
with trio Sprig of That, and with artists across the US and internationally.
Bergmark is a teaching artist at Mandala South Asian Performing Arts, an
adjunct professor at Oakton Community College, and studies tabla with Pandit
Yogesh Samsi.
