God Girl is one woman’s journey of finding freedom, one sin at a time. Growing up in the
extremely religious South, this empathetic girl experiences brainwashing that gave her hope and
dictated her future. As she reached adolescence, the values she held no longer gave her
guidance - only a lot of very awkward encounters with the opposite sex. Desperate to escape
the oppressive culture she must comply with, she goes to NYC. She is free here, but maybe
she lets it go too far. Much too far; she didn’t ask for that, not that. What will God Girl learn to
believe in?
Playwright and Performer - Heather Danielsen
Heather Danielsen hails from the south. She is a Theatre graduate of Middle Tennessee State
University, where she studied acting and dance and was a member of APO. Since moving to
NYC, she has performed improv (PIT house team), sketch, and stand-up all over the city. God
Girl is her first presented work as a playwright.
Director Patrick McCartney
Patrick McCartney is an accomplished Actor, Director, and Instructor. He performed Improv
with Second City in Chicago in the 90s, alongside notable alumni such as Tina Fey, Amy
Poehler, and Ali Farahnakian. He continues to share the craft in NYC as a member of Centralia
and as an instructor at the People’s Improv Theater. Acting credits include Elf,
