The National Storytelling Festival is 47 years old this year and it is making a slight change because of the times - it is going virtual. You can find more information about that festival (Oct. 1 - 3, 2020) at https://www.storytellingcenter.net/festival/. There will still be lots of traditions even in the virtual world: loads of incredible storytellers, workshops, special studio guests, ghost stories and even a late night "After Hours" program. However, one of the most precious events - Exchange Place - which features six storytellers from different parts of the country to tell a 12-minute story - will not be happening. I love the reasoning, "We want to make sure this special experience is shared live.", the coordinator said. So, we have decided to have a National Exchange Place Reunion for the class of 2013. Storytellers Chuck Brodsky, Norah Dooley, Bob Tryanski, Rick Huddle, Sheila and Emcee Hannah Harvey are sharing stories - updated and grown since that first time together on stage. We might even share with you a little about what that 2013 Exchange Place felt like.
Join us in a sharing of stories from folktale to personal narrative, from humorous to thought-provoking. Portion of the ticketed proceeds will be given to International Storytelling Center, which hosts the National Storytelling Festival.
