The film explores his relentless pursuit of freedom that defines his life and work.
La Torre - In 2023, the La Torre condominium in the Río Pierdas region of Puerto Rico saw a shift in ownership, with affluent investors acquiring multiple properties in the area. As a consequence of this change, tenants received notifications disclosing a substantial increase in rent. This sudden surge has prompted residents to unite in opposition against the unwelcome prospect of eviction and the expanding reach of gentrification in Puerto Rico. The community's collective efforts signify a growing resistance to the forces of change that threaten to alter the fabric of their neighborhood.
Puerta De Tierra: a neighborhood facing gentrification - This project addresses the urban development in the community of Puerta de Tierra located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and its relationship to the recent gentrification phenomenon in the country. This work is framed by the context of recent governmental initiatives and the proliferation of short-term rentals, and how these interact with the daily lives of the residents and the commerce activities in the area.
