Hoboken resident Caren Lissner's humorous first novel, Carrie Pilby, was released in 2003 and sold 70,000 copies before being made into a film of the same name, currently on Netflix. Her nerdy novel chronicles the adventures of a supersmart young woman in the big city. Caren has also published investigative pieces, personal essays, and humor in the last year in the New York Times, Washington Post, Atlantic.com, McSweeney's, and LitHub. She grew up in New Jersey and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
