Blood and Water is based on a true story. It's an emotional journey through the passionate romance between a Jewish woman and a Palestinian man. The story navigates the delicate terrain of a couple in love, yet on opposite sides of a conflict larger than themselves. Forced to confront their lifelong beliefs, families, and religion, they question whether love is strong enough to conquer all.
Rachel Brill is a New York Based actress, writer, and theater educator. In addition to her one woman show, “Blood and Water”which first debuted at the United Solo Theater Festival in 2017, Rachel is also getting ready to shoot her original short film, “Wombanhood,” which is about women’s reproductive health. As both a performer and a writer, Rachel draws on her own life experiences as well as current social justice issues to create both theater and film. Some theater credits include: The Dare Project at the Chain Theater, The Vagina Monologues at HERE Arts Space, and Dante’s Inferno at the Brick Theater Soundscape festival. Film credits include: The Favor which was nominated for an award at the Queens World Film Festival, and the Unattainable story.
