Come along on the famous New York City history walking tour that has been turned into a virtual tour. 

Love New York City history and famous characters? Explore Morningside Heights and the Upper West Side from your couch. I have converted my walking tour into a virtual tour via Zoom. It’s a walking tour without the walk, to explore the world of those who made novels, music, love, and war (not all at the same time). Led by Kevin C. Fitzpatrick, author of eight books tied to New York City, including the double award-winning World War I New York: A Guide to the City’s Enduring Ties to the Great War and 111 Places In The Bronx That You Must Not Miss. This is a live videoconference and discussion you can join from your desktop, laptop, tablet, or smart phone. Once you register and buy your ticket, you will receive a link with a password to join the tour. 

About the tour:  Come along on an engaging tour with a focus on baseball, books, crime, history, and the Jazz Age. We will see the former residences of some of New York’s greatest personalities of the past, including Babe Ruth, George and Ira Gershwin, William Randolph Hearst, Mary Pickford, J.D. Salinger, and more. This 60-minute tour starts at the General Grant National Memorial (Grant’s Tomb) and winds down to West Seventy-second Street to “visit” many notable locations on the Upper West Side.

• See multiple locations where home run king Babe Ruth resided, along with many other Hall of Fame players such as Christy Mathewson and John McGraw;
• Visit the locations of the real-life inspirations for Citizen Kane: William Randolph Hearst & Marion Davies, plus legends such as Cecil B. DeMille and Harry Houdini;
• Learn about local writers as diverse as Dorothy Parker, Edna Ferber, and Edgar Allan Poe;

• Hear about scandals and crime stories of years gone by;
