Come Join us at the historic Independence Heights Community Garden's 3rd Annual Peace through PIE Event Celebrating Legacy of MLK with the theme of ‘Food, Health and Community.’

Location: St. Matthew's Church, 4300 Nortth Shepherd, Houston TX
This event will feature free food, pies, healthy cooking demos, and our annual homemade community pie contest. Featured entertainment includes performances from Marquis Moore, a young MLK orator, The Bayou Theatre Company doing a rendition of the “I Have A Dream’ speech, the Garden Oaks Montessori school choir, and a Tom Bass Senior Citizen Center performance.
Beauty’s Community Garden Director, Yvette Leno, hopes to increase the community garden’s awareness as a healthy and sustainable fresh produce source that’s available to Independence Heights and surrounding neighborhood residents,”
