Are you looking for a new adventure out in New York? One of the most lively and interesting bars you can attend, complete with a unique theme and amazing offerings, is Brooklyn’s Rookery.
The Innovation Behind Brooklyn’s Rookery
One of the most innovative things about the Rookery is its British pub presentation complete with a West-Indian inspired menu. Located in an industrial warehouse space, the centerpiece of the pub is its horseshoe bar. Following the British-Indian concept, the décor is styled with blues and greens, as well as a wallpapered wall complete with a floral design.
The Vision of Jamie Schmitz
The owner of The Rookery, Jamie Schmitz, presents his British heritage with pride, offering drinks and entrees that include: Scotch cocktails, Primm’s Cup, shepherd’s pie with curried goat, oxtail ragu, samosa burgers, Brussel sprouts with bacon, baked spinach and Gruyere, potato wedges, and Scotch eggs wrapped in sausage and a panko breading.
Jamie Schmitz’s beautiful and unique pub shows his experience with the other bars and restaurants he has helped to establish, including the Cake Shop and St. Dymphna in Manhattan. The Rookery was a love of his that took some time to develop and perfect. He completed the concept, with the help of his wife Shana Bellot, over the past year, making sure the new pub was both unique and elegant.
Schmitz also has an ear for music as a musician himself and provides plenty of talent at his pub. At night, there is entertainment to see at Brooklyn’s Rookery. Both visitors and residents come to enjoy the excellent selection of beer while listening to a D.J., and enjoying a musical evening out with old friends and potential new ones.
