Maa Tujhe Salaam
Starring: Sunny Deol, Tabu
Music: Sajid-Wajid
Lyrics: Sameer, Tejpal Kaur, Vicky Nagar

Maa Tujhe Salaam

Dekhne Ko Tujhko - Sonu Nigam, Bhairavi
A Punjabi style number. The song has a sweet tune but the tune sounds familiar. I cant put my finger on which song. Lyric is ordinary.

Oye Rhanjana - Sunidhi Chauhan
Sunidhi's voice is very effective but the tune is disappointing. It sounds like one of those old 80's Bappi Lahri numbers.

Chodh Ke Naa Jaa Oh Piya - Alka Yagnik
If the last track sounded like an 80's track, this one is the worst repeat of the millions of late 70's/early 80's songs from Bollywood's disastrous action movies of the time (remember when Dharminder started to look really bad).

Cham Cham Bole Payal Piya - Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sonu Nigam
The only saving grace of this song is Kavita's sweet voice. The tabla instrumentation is a little different, but the ridiculously mediocre background music out shadows that.

Sone Ke Jaisi Meri Jawani - Asha Bhonsle
The song is boring but I was reminded of the amazing fact that Asha Bhonsle can still compete with the likes of any young singer today (remember the fabulous Kambakth Ishq).

Chod Ke Na Jaa Oh Piya - Harvinder
If the great Alka Yagnik couldn't save this song, how can Harvinder? Why did they need a second rendition? Maybe Sunny Deol is supposed to sing this one in the movie, but my god this song is bad!

Maa Tujhe Salaam - Shankar Mahadevan
Shankar Mahadevan made a mistake by singing this song. Even the beautiful title of this song doesn't save it. Vicky Nagar's lyrics are O.K.

Only Mithun Chakravarthi's movies have worse music than this. There is a reason that the Sajid-Wajid duo hasn't hit it big in Bollywood (in spite of a few years in the industry), they show no signs of having any talent. After listening to this album, I don't feel like watching this movie. With a good title like "Maa Tujhe Salaam", the album sounds like one of those dry desi pop albums from Canada. Don't buy a CD or tape unless you love bad Indo-pop or Bollywood music from the 80's (this album has poor repetitions of those).

2 out of 5 bindis - Its almost ok
