Phir Hera Pheri
Director: Neeraj Vora
Starring: Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal
Released: June 9, 2006

Phir Hera Pheri

After the astounding success of Hera Pheri, producer Firoz Nadiadwala has come up with a sequel called Phir Hera Pheri, featuring Bipasha Basu and Rimii Sen instead of Tabu. Neeraj Vora succeeds in establishing a sense of continuity between the first part and the new edition of the HERA PHERI sequel.

The film begins where Hera Pheri ended. After having made mega-bucks, Baburao (Paresh Rawal), Raju (Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (Sunil Shetty) are leading a life of luxury. They are leading a comfortable life till Raju decides to invest all their earnings in a scheme floated by Auradha (Bipasha Basu). Shyam agrees to Raju's decision because Anuradha reminds of his dead wife (Tabu).

Raju sells their house, borrows money and invests all of it in the scheme. But the trio gets the shock of their lives when they learn that the investment scheme was nothing but just that, a scheme. They then land up in a chawl where Raju meets Anjali (Rimii) and falls in love with her. Trouble begins when it is learned that the person whom Raju had borrowed money from turns out to be a local goon who threatens to get all of them killed if they fail to return his money. And thus begins the chase that includes drugs, money, diamonds and guns.

Unlike Hera Pheri, where it was Paresh Rawal who walked away with the best performance, over here it is Akshay Kumar who is the key to the film's effectuality. Sunil Shetty has nothing much to do in the film but makes his presence felt, nevertheless. Paresh Rawal is fabulous once again even though he has nothing new to add to the character of Baburao.

Phir Hera Pheri is a time pass film. You can only watch it once.
