THE PAST, THE PRESENT AND A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR DESI HERO ADITYA PANCHOLI

Unlike our other desi heroes, he did not have to rush from one producer to the other, clutching his portfolio. Instead, while travelling in a Mumbai local train, he was spotted by the secretary of a film director who was on the look out for a new face! In true filmi style, this cat-eyed handsome man with a lethal personality appealed to him and Aditya Pancholi was the new star on the horizon of Hindi cinema!

His first film 'Sasti Dulhan Mehenga Dulha' in 1984 paved the way for money and other good things in life as his plans of joining the Navy vanished into thin air and he became one of the many average actors in the industry. None of his roles can be considered great as mostly he has done second fiddle roles of brother, hero's friend or the head honcho. But two recent films where he has been highly appreciated are 'Yes Boss' where he plays the title role of the "Boss" and 'Hamesha'. As the 55-year-old Thakur in 'Hamesha' he looked quite convincing and dominating. With these hits in his kitty things have started looking up for Aditya. What with a film like 'Desh' (where he plays a corrupt police officer) lined up for release, guess it's time for the industry to take this actor - with the lethal combination of light-eyed innocence and devastatingly good looks - a bit more seriously!
